Service Tax Registeration

The Central Board of Excise and Customs has developed a new software application called Automation of Central Excise and Service Tax (ACES), which aims at improving tax-payer services, transparency, accountability and efficiency in the indirect tax administration in India. This is a Mission Mode project (MMP) of the Prime Minister under the e-governance plan of the Govt. of India. ACES encompasses the entire gamut of Central Excise and Service Tax processes - registration, returns, accounting and reconciliation, refunds, dispute resolution, audit, provisional assessment, exports, claims, intimations and permissions.

If you are providing a service which is not covered under negative list, you need registeration immediatedly after the turnover crosses 9 lacs or if you starting a new business and sure about annual turnover 10 lacs need to register with superintendent of Centeral Excise and Customs

The following documents are required for service tax registeration:

 

  • ID and Address proof of all Directors along with photos of the same.
  • Application in Form ST-1.
  • Copy of PAN card of Partnership /Firm / Pvt. / LLP/ NGO.
  • Copy of Partnership deed./ MOA & AOA.
  • Proof of Address which is to be registered with service tax department.
  • Copy of PAN card of all partners / Directors
  • Name and address of partners with Govt. Allotted Address Proofs.
  • Address proof of all partners.
  • Letter of Authority to collect ST-2 certificate (draft enclosed)
  • Addresses of branches as per format 5(b) in ST-1 with address proof of branches like telephone bill/electricity bill).
  • Rent Agreement Registered / Notarized.
  • NOC from Owner
  • Bank Account No and MICR No.
  • Power of Attorney
